The Manitoba Labour Board addresses matters arising in unionized workplaces, as well as workplaces in the process of becoming unionized. These matters include, but are not limited to, applications for certification, collective bargaining, unfair labour practices, disputes over working conditions and job security. The Board assists with procedural matters but does not offer legal advice.

- hours of work and overtime
- payment of wages including vacation and holiday pay
- access to leaves of absence
- discipline

Contact the Workplace Safety and Health Branch for questions about:
- being safe at work
- the right to refuse work if you feel it is unsafe
- reporting workplace accidents
- harassment policies in the workplace
Contact the Human Rights Commission for questions about:
- Human Rights laws
- discrimination
- duty to accommodate
Contact the Manitoba Ombudsman for questions about:
- access to information
- privacy matters
- the fairness of government actions or decisions
- serious wrongdoings in the administration of the public service
- concerns over FIPPA, PHIA, or other privacy issues
Contact the Workers Compensation Board
- workplace injury occupational disease
- information on Workers Compensation Benefits such as paid time off
- appealing a Workers Compensation Board decision
- a claim on suppression or discrimination / repercussions in the workplace for filing a WCB claim
If you do not belong to a union and your questions are about employment in:
- air, rail, international or long-haul or inter-provincial transport
- banks (not credit unions)
- military or any Branch of the Federal Government
- on a First Nations Reserve or directly for a bank
