The Manitoba Labour Board is committed to the ongoing identification and removal of barriers preventing the community it serves from fully engaging in its processes, including those with disabilities. All information can be made available through communication support or accessible formats to encourage dignified and independent access.
Requesting accessibility accommodations
If you need services and resources in a different format, or help with communication, follow these steps:
- Identify the information or resource you need in an accessible format, or the type of communication support required.
- Send your request through one of the following channels:
- Email: Send an email to mlb@gov.mb.ca or to the board officer assigned to your case. Include your name, contact information, and describe the accessible format or support you need.
- Phone: Call the Board at 204-945-3783 or call the board officer assigned to your file.
- After submitting your request, a representative will contact you to discuss the accessible format or communication support that best meets your needs.
The Board will provide timely feedback. There is no extra charge for different formats or help with communication.
Accessible (or alternate) formats
Accessible or alternate formats present printed or electronic documents in different ways to ensure everyone has equal access to information. People with disabilities may use adaptive or assistive technology such as screen readers or captions in video content or virtual meetings. This technology might require an alternate or accessible format to access the information in a specific manner for the user.
Examples of accessible or alternate formats include:
- large print
- recorded audio
- electronic or digital documents
- braille
- writing in plain language
- translation services
- sign language interpretation
- text transcripts of visual and audio information
